Pricing for tiered wedding cakes start at $4.50 per serving. This includes any flavor cake with Vanilla buttercream as the filling and the frosting. Cakes covered with rolled fondant start at $6.00 per serving. The final price is dependent on the design and flavors chosen.
All Wedding cakes require a $100 retainer/deposit on the order. This retainer/deposit does two things: It holds the date and it goes towards the purchase of your wedding cake. This retainer/deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to another cake, so please be sure you want Simply Desserts to make your wedding cake before you make this payment. Once the retainer/deposit is paid, a contract will be created specifying the size, flavors, and design of the cake. All balances for wedding cakes are due 14 days before the event.
Wedding Cakes - 50 Servings and Smaller:
We are more than happy to make your wedding cake regardless of the size. For wedding cakes that serve fewer than 50, our minimum cake order is $225.00.
Changes to the Cake Design After Contract is Signed:
You may change almost anything up to 2 weeks before the wedding. This includes size, design, flavor, etc. However, if you are having sugar flowers, design changes require a 4 week notice. Please no changes in design, size or flavors are allowed after the 2 week deadline.
Groom's cakes are available with a confirmed wedding cake order. Groom's cakes can be served at the rehearsal dinner or at the reception as a second cake. Normally they are designed to reflect the hobby of the groom. All groom's cakes are customizable.
Delivery and setup of your cake starts at $25 for the first 5 miles.
Delivery to Downtown Baltimore has a flat rate of $75.
Delivery to Downtown Annapolis has a flat rate of $100.
Delivery to Downtown DC and Northern VA starts at $125.
All other locations are calculated on distance from Columbia, MD and typically averages $1.25 per mile round trip.
Deliveries requiring additional setup (i.e. cupcake towers or a cake with pillars will incur an additional $25 surcharge). Your final delivery cost will be determined at the consultation.
Inclement Weather/ Other Emergencies:
If we are unable to complete your wedding cake due to weather or other emergencies that are not within our control, we will call as soon as possible to let you know. In addition, if weather or other circumstances beyond our control prevent us from delivering your wedding cake, we will contact you to discuss options.
If any weather or other emergency situation not within our control, prevents us from delivering your cake, all monies paid, except your $100 deposit, will be refunded if your cake was already made, but not delivered. If the cake has not been made, and the event has been cancelled due to weather or other emergency (i.e. loss of the venue due to a catastrophic event) all monies paid, including your $100 deposit, will be refunded or transferred to a new date.
If you reschedule delivery to a new date, such as the following day, or new location, such as to a venue that is outside of the emergency area, no monies will be refunded.
Fresh flowers are not provided by Simply Desserts, and must be procured through your florist. You and your florist are responsible for the quality and safety (i.e. ensuring that they are food safe) of the flowers. You are also responsible for ensuring that the flowers are at the reception site for when the cake is delivered.
Because your cake has been carefully constructed to your specifications, we prefer to place fresh flowers on the cake. Simply Desserts will not be held responsible for any damage done to the cake from persons unaffiliated with Simply Desserts.

Once the wedding cake is secured, all cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations done within 14 to 5 days of the event will be refunded 50% of the cost of cake. Cancellations done within 4 days of the event, will not be refunded.
